Biography

Dr Rhona Winnington teaches health and nursing research to postgraduate nursing students, has a key role in the MSc Contemporary Health Masters programme, and is supervisor for MA/MSc and PhD thesis students at the University of Plymouth, UK. Rhona completed her MA at Massey University, New Zealand and her PhD at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her specialist focus of interest is in palliative care/end-of-life care and the relationship between clinicians and patients; in particular the articulation of power in these relationships in a time of open access to knowledge through the internet. Currently working with Rowcroft Hospice, UK to improve out of hours responses to clinical crises at end-of-life.
